I bought the hardcover edition of The Golem and the Jinni based solely on its beautiful dust jacket.

According to the back flap, the cover was designed by Richard Ljoenes. It is delicately evocative of the story inside. Well done!

Unfortunately, I cannot find identification of the fonts used in the title, nor the copy, but they lend themselves well to the magic of the story. The gold enhances the lettering of the title nicely.

The photograph of the Washington Square Arch, which figures into the story, appears shrouded in a blue tinged fog with eerie points of light over a snow covered ground. It is as though an enchantment clings to the park. Blue also dyes the edges of the pages.

Inside, the story delivers on the cover’s promise and perhaps I’ll write up a review.

Have you read it, what do you think?
